The brutal regime under leader Pol Pot, in power from 1975-1979. There were many unspeakable things happened under the regime. The people in Cambodia are still living in fear to this day. The elder avoid talking about the talking because they are still afraid. While the younger continue to ignorance and barely know about the vivid details until recently. Many writers from western country, such as Angelina Joulie, or Local writer Dith Pran, are the bravest people because they spent their life mission to committed into telling the truth.

For this assignment, a group of students from American University of Phnom Penh, discussed the similarities and differences between the film “First They Killed My Father” and “The Children of Cambodia’s Killing Field” under the themes of "Nationalism and Arm Conflict". It has many similarities since it tells the experience of many younger who live under the regime. The only difference is that “First They Killed My Father” by Angelina Joulie filming in the First Person’s perspective. However, Dith Pran “The Children of Cambodia’s Killing Field” writing in a third person’s perspective.
